Text: Daniel Kalt Fotos: SEEK

Fantastic in the truest sense of the word, the works of Nina Gorfer and Sarah Cooper, who run the SEEK studio in Gothenburg together, take visitors into a world of outstanding visual grandeur. Based in the High North, the two graphic designers from the USA and Sweden probably get their inspiration from the rich realm of Scandinavian legends. The fact is that they have created a distinctive and extremely rich imagery world in their collaborations with designers, as well as with their own publications. Certainly something to look and marvel at…

The fashion Nina Gorfer and Sarah Cooper present on these pages, in the most impressive way, is the Spring/Summer 2009 collection “Sparkling Night” by the Swedish label Kling by Kling. The young designer Karolina Kling, who catapulted herself into the fashion business full of verve in 2006, is regarded in specialist circles as a pepped up version of Viktor & Rolf. Trade marks of her designs, which are available, among others, in the Vibskov Store in Copenhagen or at No-one in London, are the conspicuously graphical patterns. An absolutely perfect addition to the fascinating imagery world of SEEK.

A book tip at the end:

The first independent publication of the Gothenburg studio, SEEK Volume 01 Iceland, was published in July 2008 by GestaltenVerlag and invites readers to embark on an exceptional excursion to the island of steaming geysers.
